Environmental Abatement Council of Canada (EACC)

As environmental consultants we rely heavily on regulations, standards and guidelines to assist our clients with issues that arise. We just don’t make – up abatement procedures on our own. If there are no regulations in-place we often rely on industry standards and guidelines.

One of the most important organizations that issue standards and guidelines for Safetech is The Environmental Abatement Council of Canada (EACC). EACC is a contractor-based organization formed by professionals within the environmental abatement industry. Members of EACC represent our industry as a whole including contractors, consultants, engineers, suppliers, government officials and others that have an interest in the environmental abatement industry.  EACC has been operating for many years and has evolved from the Environmental Abatement Council of Ontario, Ontario Asbestos Removal Contractors Association and the Canadian National Asbestos Council.

EACC issues guidelines that help Safetech determine an appropriate course of action and recommendations for our clients. These guidelines assist with issues related to asbestos, designated substances, mould, infection control and lead paint to name a few. EACC also has other valuable information for anyone that is dealing with environmental related issues. Listed directly on the EACC  website is a pre-qualified list of abatement contractors, consultants, suppliers and laboratories. Anyone needing an abatement contractor can simply refer to the list and know they have a good vendor.

2023 is exciting times for EACC with new incoming President Peter Ferrante from Ferro Environmental embarking on expanding EACC brand across Canada with numerous chapters in various regions of Ontario, Western Canada and Eastern Cananda in the planning stages.  Check out EACC at https://www.eaccanada.ca/
